This Lunch & Learn series is a monthly opportunity for frontline career development professionals (CDPs) to connect, share ideas, and strengthen professional practice. This month, join Roberta Borgen and Cassie Taylor from Life Strategies Ltd.

Ethical dilemmas never have clear answers; they demand reflection, judgment, and ongoing practice. Ethical competence isn’t achieved through a single training—it’s strengthened through continual engagement and dialogue around real world ethical dilemmas. This lunch-and-learn session provides a rapid-fire refresher revisiting core principles and offers an opportunity to practice navigating complex situations with integrity.

Roberta Borgen (Neault) is an internationally recognized career development scholar and practitioner whose work advances ethical practice through reflective judgment, cultural humility, and practical frameworks that support integrity in complex professional contexts.

Cassie Taylor brings over 15 years of experience, supporting CDPs through research, training, and resource development. Collaborating with advisory groups, she enhances service delivery by integrating culturally informed, tailored practices, ensuring impactful outcomes in diverse career development settings.

Each 45-minute session is designed to be practical, engaging, and relevant to the work happening across the sector.

Session format

5 minutes: sector updates
20 minutes: featured topic or speaker
20 minutes: peer discussion

Sessions focus on real, frontline topics such as employer engagement, trauma-informed practice, and job search trends.

Who should attend

This Lunch & Learn series is a monthly opportunity for frontline career development professionals (CDPs) to connect, share ideas, and strengthen professional practice.

This month, join Seanna Quressette from Douglas College.

Come find out about a program that is designed to give you the tools to work with whoever walks through the door for a career conversation. You will learn about the FCWC program. We will explore some key concepts of working in trauma-informed ways in career development, and learn new ways to work that support you.

You will leave with a few new words in your lexicon of trauma-informed practice and to reflect on case studies from their work.You will get to sample a bit of each of the five courses in the program that are designed to support you in your work with clients facing trauma and mental health challenges.

Seanna is a trained trauma therapist and a CCDP with over forty years experience in the sector. Seanna helped design the Foundations program to assist CDPs with the real challenges facing you at work.

CDP Boot Camp Fall 2026 Series (October 05, 2026)

ASPECT, in partnership with Life Strategies, is excited to launch CDP Boot Camp—an engaging onboarding program designed for new Career Development Professionals and a perfect refresher for seasoned practitioners.

This training is designed to fit into busy schedules, offering continuing education credits and an optional capstone project that leads to the national Certified Career Development Professional (CCDP®) designation.
